On this Saturday’s “Weekends with Alex Witt”, Alex Witt interviews Steven Rattner for her Office Politics segment. In the three part interview below, Steve discusses the GM/Chrysler bailouts and the current government shutdown / debt ceiling fight.

Rattner’s role in saving GM and Chrysler

In Part I of this week’s Office Politics, MSNBC’s Alex Witt talks to Morning Joe economic analyst Steve Rattner. He talks about the saving role he played in the near-death experience of two of America’s largest car companies. Rattner advised putting General Motors into bankruptcy, changing the management and basically restructuring the entire company.

In Part II of this week’s Office Politics, MSNBC’s Alex Witt continues her talk with Morning Joe economic analyst Steve Rattner. He says that the ripple effects of defaulting on our loans would be disastrous. He says the shutdown was not made to be solved through an easy compromise.
