MSNBC’s Morning Joe: Deciphering the Recent Unemployment Figures

The number of people filing for unemployment has dropped, but it’s largely because people are dropping out of the work force, not because they have found employment. There were 120,000 new jobs created last month, but in order to really bring the unemployment rate down on a sustained basis, we need to be creating about 300,000 jobs a month. The Morning Joe team discusses these unemployment figures, as well as leading indicators, a rise in consumer confidence, and a rise in auto sales.
